How to Look Less Tired After a Busy Weekend

Need to instantly look less tired? We have a few excellent tips from a beauty expert

This weekend was a doozy. The kids needed costumes for Friday (and of course we left things to the last minute and spent Thursday night in a panic, duct taping together their Alien/Superhero/Viking/Princess/Zombie costume for them. Saturday was the big day, during which we drank too much coffee and ate way too much chocolate. Sunday at 2 a.m. Daylight Savings time ended, turning our clocks back one hour, which  while giving us an extra hour, kind of messes with our sleep schedules (ours and our littles’).

Desperate for help this morning we turned to our friend and beautyBOUTIQUE Manager at Shopper’s Drug Mart, Bayview Village, Loida Adam. We got two great tips for looking less tired after a long night, weekend, or whenever we look more like a zombie than we’d like.

Step One:

Cleanse and exfoliate your skin—this will instantly brighten your complexion. By removing dead skin,  the surface of your face will appear to be brighter and refreshed. A good exfoliator to try is the Clarins Refiner Exfoliating Cream with Microbeads.

Step Two:

Apply a great face mask and/or eye patches to help rejuvenate the skin, Loida recommends the Shiseido White Lucent face paper mask. She loves it because it gives an amazing luminous glow. For the eyes, she says to try the Rodial Dragon’s Blood eye patches; after using for 3 to 5 minutes apparently our eyes will look awakened and refreshed (finally!). Then follow with your moisturizer.

If you want tips on getting out the door and looking great quickly in the morning, we have those too.
