As if the back-to-school reminders aren’t enough, here in Toronto a sure sign the summer is winding down is the start of the Canadian National Exhibition. The 132nd year of the fair begins today, with some great deals for families, including Toonie Mondays admission prices for kids 13 and under (with a paying adult). For more information, click here.

Not to be outdone, Vancouver’s Pacific National Exhibition (which starts Saturday) is offering free gate admission on Sunday, August 22 from 9 a.m. until noon. The fair is celebrating its 100th anniversary and has some amazing concerts for the adult set. For more information, click here.

Out on the east coast, the Nova Scotia Provincial Exhibition in Truro also begins on Saturday. How’s this for a great deal? Admission for kids eight and under is free!
