Back-to-School Style: Off-the-Cuff Bracelets

Photography by Disney Family Fun

Once all your major back-to-school fashion shopping is done, it’s time to move on to phase two: accessories. And nothing lets your little ones show off their personal style more than handmade funky accessories that can be customized to suit their tastes. We’re big fans of finger-woven t-shirt necklaces and headbands made from old neckties, but we also think your kids will love this great felted cuff bracelet idea from Disney’s Family Fun website. It’s a great way to upcycle old sweaters and requires only a few simple items to put together.

What you’ll need:
• Old sweaters
• Scissors
• Buttons, felt shapes (whatever you’d like to use to decorate your cuff)
• Thread
• Needle

You’ll find the full directions for these off-the-cuff bracelets over on the Family Fun website. Because a needle and thread are involved, this craft is best suited to slightly older kids, though it would make for a great learn-to-sew project for younger kids with adult supervision, too.
