Cheap as Cardboard: Kids’ Furniture

We spied this ingenious idea over at free downloadable patterns for amazing kids’ furniture—a chair, rocker and stool—from Foldschool. All of these pieces are designed by Swiss architect (and some time bike messenger) Nicola Enrico Stäubli and constructed by you. The trick may be finding just the right cardboard (4mm single-layer is needed for all projects), and you have to prove your worthiness by making a sample before they allow you to download the PDFs for the larger projects.

It’s not that they’re hard, per se, but assembling these puppies does require some skills. We’ll put it this way: if you have trouble with Ikea furniture, these may be a tad ambitious.
