If you’ve got a few old newspapers hanging around the recycling bin, we think that Earth Day is the perfect time to put them to good use with these paper mache light-up globes by Housing a Forest.

These globes are tons of fun and easy to make. Kids will be in awe of their final creation as they watch the light peep through this magical globe. Like any other paper mache project this one can get a little messy, so be sure to have something to cover the floor and tabletops.

What you’ll need:

  • Paper mache paste (flour and water)
  • Newspaper
  • Tissue paper
  • Skewer
  • Bucket
  • Balloon
  • Paper plate
  • Plastic cup
  • Candles (battery-operated tea lights are great for this!)
