April showers have finally brought on the May flowers—and what better way to show them off than with a colourful handmade vase? We love the look of these vases, created by Jeromina over at Paper, Plate, and Plane. Not only will they add a beautiful splash of colour to your table, but they also provide a great way to reuse your old milk cartons and empty glass jars.
What you’ll need:
• Milk or juice cartons (two per vase)
• A glass jar
• Hot glue gun
Little ones can easily complete the weaving part of this activity, but will require help from an adult (or older child) when it comes time to fire up the glue gun. Jeromina has provided full instructions, as well as step-by-step photos of the Basket Weave Vases over on her site.
Does your family reuse old household items during craft time? If you’re looking for some more eco-friendly ideas, we have six recycled spring crafts that you can make, using basic egg cartons.
