Breathe new life into favourite toys that your kids have outgrown (or that have seen better days) by upcycling them into cool bookends.

What you’ll need:
• Unfinished wood plaques
• Old toys (think action figures, animals, etc.)
• Spray paint
• Hot glue

Directions:
Pick up an unfinished wood plaque from your local craft store for the base. Spray-paint the plaque and toy the same colour (they will need two coats). Once dry, use hot glue to attach the toy to the base.

Tip: Be sure to choose a spray paint that’s suitable for a variety of materials, including plastic, metal and wood.
