Nature Craft: Birdseed Ornaments

Photography from Emily via Saltwater Kids

This unusually mild February weather is lifting the winter-laden spirits of Canadians everywhere! So why not spread the spring joy around and give our feathered friends a feast worthy of this warm weather?

The adorable seed ornaments from Mommy blogger Emily at Saltwater Kids are fun and easy for the kids to make with little supervision from mom and dad. Then they can hang their creations outside, usually in front of a window, and watch the birds flock to the delicious treats. Hinterland’s Who Who offers a table of the usual feeder visitors and what seeds you can use in your ornaments to attract particular species of your avian audience. Happy birding!
