Sometimes only using one art medium can get a little boring for you and your little ones, so why not mix it up a bit?
Grab that box of crayon stubs from the bottom drawer, some heavy art paper and black acrylic paint and create a neon masterpiece on your kitchen floor, just like That Artist Woman, Gail Bartel did with her Grade 2 class in Calgary, AB. There is no limit to the designs that can come about with this unique mixed medium project and each time your kids scratch away some black, a new vibrant colour appears.
Black paint does offer the most dramatic effect, but why not try different wash colours. Try a white/blue to resemble snow and scratch away the whiteness to uncover colourful spring flowers underneath.
