Celebrating a birthday? From beauty products for moms to fun printables for the birthday boy or girl, and even royal greetings for grandparents, we’ve rounded up some great websites that will help you celebrate your birthday with a little something special. And best of all, it won’t cost you a dime!

1. Sign up at rockychoc.com for a Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory card and receive an email coupon for a free treat.

2. The Prime Minister sends congratulatory letters to Canadians celebrating 65th and 70th birthdays (or certificates for 75th birthdays and up). Fill out the forms online at pm.gc.ca. You can also request messages from the Governor General (90th birthday minimum) or even Queen Elizabeth herself (100th birthday minimum) at gg.ca. Requests should be made at least three weeks for the PM, or two months for the GG or Queen, before the big day.

3. Ice cream always tastes sweet when it’s free (times three!). Sign up for Baskin Robbins’ birthday club for a free cone. Join Marble Slab Creamery’s Marble Mail to collect a sweet birthday treat. Plus, Dairy Queen’s Blizzard Fan Club gives you a BOGO treat-size Blizzard coupon just for signing up.

4. Check out the cute free iron-on-transfer options at HP Creative Studio for a DIY loot idea.

5. If your child’s party theme is based on a Disney movie or character, check out family.go.com for free craft downloads from fairy flower rings to a template for Thor’s winged helmet.

6. Looking for a place to give a shout-out to the birthday boy or girl? Breakfast Television in Toronto, Vancouver, Calgary, Edmonton and Winnipeg all share birthday greetings during their program (breakfasttelevision.ca; pick the city and click on celebrations). You must send in pictures in advance (up to two months), and in many cases it is first-come, first-served. Disney Junior also has on-air and online birthday greetings. Each month they feature 20 randomly selected photos along with special greetings. Photos must be submitted two months before your child’s birthday month at disneyjunior.ca.

7. Become a beauty insider at sephora.com/beautyinsider and receive a free Philosophy shower gel. You can pick it up in-store two weeks before or two weeks after your birthday. Sweet!

8. If your little one’s party is centred around a Treehouse or NickJr. TV character like Dora, Diego, Wubbzy or the gang from Yo Gabba Gabba, check out treehousetv.com or nickjr.com for downloadable activities and colouring pages for simple but fun loot-bag fillers.
