Sprockets Kicks Off Tomorrow

The Toronto International Film Festival for Children begins tomorrow! You can take in a show at Famous Players Canada Square, 2190 Yonge St. or at Cineplex Odeon Sheppard Grande, 4861 Yonge St from now until next Friday (April 24th).

The festival, which boasts a collection of 70 children’s films made in 14 languages and in 22 countries across the world, awards films (both short and long) based on the favourites of audiences and juries (comprised of kids).

We are checking out Hey, Hey it’s Esther Blueburger tomorrow. The film follows an eccentric Jewish outsider (played by newcomer Danielle Catanzariti) who escapes into the quirky world of a new friend (played by Whale Rider’s Keisha Castle-Hughes—swoon!) and her her flaky mom (played by Toni Collette—double swoon!)
