I am not a massive fan of travel. I dislike being away from my girl for too long. My hubby feels the same way. Of course our daughter understands that sometimes we have to be away for business, but it has been much easier on all of us since we discovered Skype.
Using our webcams, we can now make video calls and Charlotte can relay her tales of the day along with the requisite hand gestures and funny faces. This nifty service is free if both parties are hooked up. If you want to make calls to a landline or a cell phone, you can buy an unlimited subscription for the U.S. and Canada for $3 a month. It is so easy even my technophobe in-laws use Skype when they are on vacation. If you want to give it a try, the free software is available at skype.com.
