Fashion insider favourite Isabel Toledo (the designer behind Michelle Obama’s much talked about inauguration dress) is joining the likes of Christian Siriano, Alice + Olivia and Lela Rose with her leap from high-end can’t-haves to ultra-affordable must-haves.
The new line, of which we’ve only seen sketches, will be available in the fall. The purses and shoes cater to fashion-forward bargainistas, because, as with all of Payless‘s designer collaborations, the collection is a little more daring than the house brands. Expect interesting new shapes and combinations of texture.
While Toledo isn’t well known within the general community, she has been on the fashion scene for a while now. She debuted her first collection at NYC’s fashion week in 1985, performed a year-long stint as desinger of Anne Klein in 2007 and most recently she, along with her husband, was honoured with The Couture Council Artistry of Fashion Award.
Toledo’s collection will be in Payless stores this September.
