When we received some new Burt’s Bees baby products to try out, we were excited. We’ve been fans of the line for years, and we’re always on the look out for effective products that also have the environment in mind.
We passed them along to one of our new-moms-in-the-office, Susey, who tried these two products with her one-year-old son Ethan, and much to her (and Ethan’s) delight, the products did not disappoint.
The diaper ointment—which is 100 percent natural—offered sweet-scented relief to any discomfort Ethan experienced from the dreaded diaper rash: “With the marvelous scent of lavender, I enjoy using it whenever my son has a bit of redness,” Susey reports. “I feel good knowing I’m using a natural product on my baby.”
As for the lotion—which contains buttermilk and beeswax and is 98.97 percent natural—the initial smell was a little strong, but Susey warmed up to the soothing scent of honey the more she used it. She applied the lotion following Ethan’s bath, particularly on his legs where he suffered from dryness due to the winter weather and indoor heating. “By morning, his skin is baby soft! I even sneak a little bit and use it for myself too, as it is very rich and hydrating.”
Burt’s Bees products contain no petrochemicals or potentially harmful synthetic ingredients such as pthalates, parabens and sodium lauryl sulfate. They’re also never tested on animals.
