When it comes to choosing a baby shower gift, we’re all about surprising the moms-to-be in our lives with beautiful, unique finds that they’ll be able to treasure long after their bundle of joy arrives. So, imagine our excitement when we came across Alphabet Photography, a Niagara Falls-based company that takes personalized gift giving to a whole new level.
What is Alphabet Photography? It’s a collection of sepia-toned images taken by photographer Jennifer Blakeley. Inspired by the children’s book Alphabet City by Stephen Johnson, Blakeley set out across Canada in search of random objects that resemble letters of the English alphabet. Her results are incredible. Nothing is staged. Nothing is taken from a pre-existing sign. They’re just everyday items (like swings, windows and fences) that can be paired to make any name, word or phrase that you desire.
Although pre-framed Alphabet Photography is now available in select stores across Canada (including WalMart and Green Earth), individual letters can be purchased online for $5 each. Each letter is available in a variety of styles, and you can try different combinations online until you find the perfect fit. Personal, sophisticated and timeless, we think this might be our favourite shower gift discovery yet.
