A Seuss-tastic Treat Idea: Truffula Tree Cake Pops

A DIY project from your childhood that your kids will have fun making.

Have you caught Lorax fever yet? (Symptoms may include: seeing everything with a slightly orange-tinted glow and a sudden desire to sport a bushy yellow moustache…) The beloved Dr. Seuss tale will be making its big-screen debut this weekend, almost 41 years after The Lorax was originally published. With an all-star voice lineup that includes Danny DeVito, Betty White, Taylor Swift and Zac Efron, the film is set to bring the classic children’s story to life and delight a whole new generation of Seuss fans. And we’ve got just the treat to accompany your Lorax-themed weekend: Truffula Tree Cake Pops from the amazing Angie Dudley, a.k.a. Bakerella.

These brightly coloured pops are ideal for junior chefs, who’ll no doubt have a blast with all the shaping, dipping and dusting with sanding sugar. We think it’s the perfect snack for story time, too.

What you’ll need:
Basic cake pops
• Candy coating wafers in yellow, pink and orange
• Sanding sugar
• Lollipop sticks
• A toothpick

You’ll find the full recipe and instructions over at Bakerella, along with two more adorable Lorax-themed cake pop ideas. And just in case you haven’t seen it yet, you can check out the trailer for Dr. Seuss’ The Lorax here.
