Dad-Friendly Dessert: Blue Moon and Corona Cupcakes

Photography by Erica,

How sweet do these cupcakes look? We found this totally awesome dessert on Sweet Tooth, just in time for Father’s Day. With bottle caps and orange or lime wedges for decoration, these beer-flavoured cupcakes are totally dad-friendly.

Use Dad’s favourite beer for a taste he will recognize and love. Blue Moon’s counterpart here in Canada is Rickard’s Original White, so it’s easy to stick to the same ingredients, if you wish. This recipe is packed with a variety of flavours that come together perfectly in these festive cupcakes. The taste of beer is noticeable but not overwhelming, and the fruity frosting complements it nicely.

What you’ll need:
• Unsalted butter
• Sugar
• Flour
• Baking powder
• Salt
• Eggs
• Vanilla
• Oranges or limes
• Beer
• Milk
• Sanding sugar
• Cream cheese
• Powdered sugar

The full instructions for these Blue Moon and Corona Cupcakes can be found on the Sweet Tooth site. Be sure to bring them to your Father’s Day get-together. With a flavour that is anything but bland, these treats are bound to be a hit among grown-ups.
