Here’s some popcorn tips for you: 3 tablespoons of kernels is about 6 cups of popped corn and can be kept unpopped for a year before it’s time to toss out. Keeping kernels in the freezer produces bigger popcorn by helping them retain moisture (those unpopped kernels at the bottom of your bowl? They didn’t pop because they’d lost moisture inside the kernel). You can store your plain, unbuttered popcorn (at room temperature) for 2 weeks. But packaged popcorn is different: because the oil inside the bag could go bad, it keeps at room temperature for about 3 months (follow the expiration date on the bag).
