We knew we were on to something with our 20 Books Every ‘Tween and Teen Should Read Before They Hit 16.

Today, Indigo is launching the first-ever Teen Read Awards in celebration of popular teen fiction. Canadian teens can now vote for their favourite books, authors and characters in stores and online.

Teens can also recommend and vote for their choice of a fifth nominee in each category up until July 25th. Each vote makes them eligible for daily prizes like gift cards to Indigo and Chapters stores and exclusive signed books form their favourite authors.

September 25th will mark the big reveal at an awards ceremony in Toronto. The presenting cast will include authors, celebrity teens and musical acts everyone is sure to love and appreciate.

But the best part? Not only has the teen books category grown by 150% in the past five years, but initiatives like the Teen Read Awards support and encourage reading and literacy among Canadian youth.
