Wrap each piece of chicken in 2 pieces of bacon and place in a 6-quart slow cooker.
Peel, core, and grate the apples and place in a medium bowl. Add the barbecue sauce and mix, then pour over the chicken. Sprinkle with the garlic powder.
Cook on low for 6 to 8 hours, or on high for 2 or 3 hours. Serve with sweet potatoes or coleslaw on the side.
