Cream Cheese Burgers

These burgers have a surprise cream cheese, herb, and garlic filling. Serve in bread rolls with salad or with potato wedges.

These burgers are amazing. And so simple to make. This recipe works equally well by substituting the beef with ground chicken or turkey.

  • 1½lb (675g) lean groundbeef 1 small onion, finelychopped 4 tbsp (60ml) freshlychopped parsley
  • 3oz (75g) soft cream cheese 1 clove garlic, crushed(optional) 2 tbsp (30ml) freshlychopped chives little oil for brushing
  1. In a large bowl, mix togetherall the ingredients for theburgers, with a little salt andfreshly ground black pepper.

  2. Divide into 8 equal portionsand flatten into rounds.

  3. In a small bowl, mix togetherthe cream cheese, garlic andchives. Place a quarter of themixture onto 4 of the burger rounds.

  4. Place the other 4 burgersrounds on top and pinchtogether the edges. Mouldinto 4 burgers. Chill for 30 minutes.Brush the burgers with a littleoil and grill for 8 to 9 minuteseach side, until thoroughlycooked through. Serve in bread rolls with salad.
