Turn the BBQ on to heat up – use low to medium heat.
Place bacon strips on a piece of tin foil (or disposable foil pan) and place on grill. Close the lid. Cooking times will vary depending on well done you like your bacon!
While the bacon is grilling butter your bread. Place bread butter side down and add your cheese and pickles in preparation.
When bacon is finished, pat dry with paper towel and add to the sandwich.
Keeping the BBQ at low to medium heat, place sandwich directly on the grill and cover. It will probably take about 5 minutes for the bread to crisp and the cheese to melt, but I like to check on mine frequently as I find burning is more common on the BBQ than in the pan.
