Glazed Figs with Mascarpone* Cream

These match perfectly with our Olive Oil Apple Cider Cake but are also great on their own.

  • 2 Cups mascarpone cheese
  • 1/2 Cups 35% cream
  • 2 tablespoons icing sugar
Glazed Figs with Mascarpone* Cream - Figs
  • 1/2 Cups orange juice
  • 1/4 Cups balsamic vinegar
  • 1/4 Cups granulated sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoons orange zest
  • 1 fluid ounce fresh figs, halved
  1. Glazed Figs

  2. In a small pot, combine orange juice, vinegar, sugar and zest. Boil over high heat, stirring to dissolve sugar. Reduce heat and simmer for 5 minutes.

  3. Preheat broiler.

  4. Gently toss figs with glaze and spread out on a sheet pan in a single layer, cut-side up. Cook under broiler for 6-8 minutes until lightly caramelized.

  5. Mascarpone* Cream

  6. Using an electric mixer, beat mascarpone until smooth. Continue beating and add cream in a slow, steady stream.

  7. Add sugar and beat for 3 more minutes. Set aside.
