In a pot over medium heat, melt butter with milk.
In a bowl, mix sugar and cocoa together. Add to milk and cook 5 minutes, or until sugar completely dissolves.
Remove from heat and add oats, nuts, coconut and vanilla. Mix well and drop by spoonful onto parchment paper. Work fast as mixture cools quickly. Allow to set completely, about 15 minutes.
