Apple Butter

A new way to enjoy our favourite toast.

Let's forget Peanut Butter and Jam sandwiches for a minute, here comes APPLE BUTTER! A new spread that will conquer your toast and hearts.
2 cups
  • 2 lbs Ontario apples peeled, cored and diced in 1/4-inch pieces
  • 3/4 granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup apple cider
  • 2 tbsp apple cider vinegar
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon
  1. Combine all ingredients in heavy-bottomed saucepan and place over medium-low heat.

  2. Cook uncovered, stirring occasionally, until apples are very tender and have darkened (about 60 to 70 minutes). Cool.

  3. Puree using blender or immersion blender.

  4. Transfer to clean container, cover and chill in refrigerator for up to two weeks.
