In a 4-cup (1 litre) glass jar, combine the flour, baking powder and salt.
Gently add the brown sugar and press down lightly. Add the chocolate and then the oats to create four layers.
Close the jar. Attach a greeting card with instructions for making the cookies.
GIFT CARD INSTRUCTIONS: In a bowl, add ½ cup (125 ml) of canola oil, ¼ cup (60 ml) of milk and 1 lightly beaten egg to the jar ingredients. With a spoon, thoroughly mix all the ingredients until the dough forms. Shape 2-tbsp (30 ml) dough balls and place them evenly on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper or a silicone mat. Lightly press with your fingers. With the rack in the middle position, preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C) and bake for 10 to 12 minutes. Makes 30 cookies.
