Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add pasta and cook for 6 minutes. Add broccoli and continue to boil for another 4 minutes.
Meanwhile, remove casings from sausages and roll sausage meat into balls 2-centimetres in diameter. In a large skillet over medium-high heat, fry meatballs until browned, rolling them around in the pan, about 10 minutes.
Reserve 1 cup of pasta water; drain remaining water and transfer pasta and broccoli to skillet. Toss pasta, broccoli and meatballs, adding in enough reserved pasta water to loosen browned bits of sausage from pan. Season with salt and pepper. Serve immediately, garnishing with Parmesan, if desired.
