Simply add the Grand Marnier, sugar and orange zest to the strawberries. Stir in and let sit for 1 hour. This is called macerating.
In a chilled bowl add the whipping cream and vanilla. When the cream starts to lighten, add the icing sugar and whip until slightly stiff.
There are two ways to present this dish. The first: Place the strawberries equally in four bowls and top with the sweetened cream. Second: Transfer the strawberries and the liquid to the cream and lightly fold the berries through. Present in Martini Glass.
In either case once the cream is whipped you should serve the dessert immediately.
