Looking for more lunch ideas? The Food Network has 15 recipes, approved by kids, and rated by parents; all of these meals received at least four, if not five stars from reviewers, and can be prepared in an average of 15 to 25 minutes.

From chili, to various sandwiches, to chicken nuggets, pasta salad, and kebobs – there is something for everyone. The pasta salad, created by Ellie Krieger, host of Healthy Appetite, is easy to throw together (10 minutes!) and keeps for days, making it a go-to meal that can always be ready ahead of time, waiting in the fridge to be ate. It’s great for on-the-go and contains a range of coloured veggies.

The Panko chicken nuggets seem to be the crowd favourite. With only a small amount of prep-time and 10 minutes of cooking time, this yummy option is great for lunch, supper, or for snacks. For a healthier option, bake the nuggets, rather than frying.

If you are looking for recess snacks and after-lunch desserts, try these brownies or cookies. The Food Network also offers a list of 50 after-school snacks, which are also great recess snack options.
