Berenstain Bears to be Feature Film

It seems that the lovable bear family, the Berenstain Bears, is going to follow in the same tradition as Where the Wild Things Are and crossover to the big screen.

The film version of the book series, which began in 1962 and led to three animated TV series, will be produced by the man behind Night at the Museum (so viewers can expect a lot of action and special effects) and will be a mix of live action and computer generated characters. Sounds interesting, but we wonder how it will translate on screen and if kids these days are still reading Berenstein books?

Do your kids read the Berenstein Bears? Would you go see the movie?

No word yet on the official release date but we hear the bear family are getting a modern makeover, we hope they don’t take it too far, like the Dora and Strawberry Shortcake‘s makeovers.
