If you’re in the Toronto area, come out to Union Station, on Wednesday October 27th to Sunday October 31st, to see world record-breaking magician/activist Scott Hammell “disappear!” …and bring some non-perishable goods with you!
Scott will be spending five days in a glass box outside of Union to raise awareness about local hunger issues and collect non-perishable food items in support of Free The Children‘s Halloween For Hunger campaign.
At 18, Scott set the world record for the “World’s Highest Suspension Straight Jacket Escape.” The escape landed him on the season premiere of the popular TV show Ripley’s Believe It Or Not.
Scott will be asking for non-perishable goods to cover his box and make him “disappear.” Close to a million people visited food banks in Toronto and surrounding areas this year, according to the Daily Bread Food Bank and 34% were children!
This is the first event of this kind for Free The Children and they need your help to make it a huge success!
If you’re not in the GTA, find a list of food banks in your area and donate what you can, or volunteer your time.
